BDAE Press Release: Penetrating the impenetrable – inserting new technology into the underwater enterprise via Project Piranha
BAE Systems Submarines continues to seek new and innovative ways to improve the maritime underwater capability for our customers, but gaining the confidence to deploy new technology and techniques has often been a barrier to progress and innovation in this field. In striving to solve this problem, a new and deliberately disruptive approach is being deployed via Project Piranha to enable better access for industry and technological advances to enter the field. This aims to produce a functional UK Submarine testbed based on the legacy Piranha platform to enable the UK enterprise to keep pace with all emergent threats, offering suppliers and strategic partners a route to demonstrate their capabilities, and build confidence in the technologies of the future.
