Press Release: MNZ Cluster – Permanent Storage of CO2 in Depleted Morecambe Bay Gas Fields

The depleted gas fields off the coast of Barrow-in-Furness provide permanent safe and secure carbon storage. The North and South Morecambe gas fields will be repurposed into a world-leading facility, able to accept up to 1 gigaton of CO2 in its lifetime.

This is the equivalent of three years’ worth of UK emissions.
