The five King George V-class vessels formed the last full class of battleships built for the Royal Navy, and the most modern available to the service during the Second World War. An often-underrated type, compromised by restrictions imposed by the London Naval Treaties, they were in fact capable battlewagons, incorporating advanced design features and saw heavy fighting in all maritime theatres of the conflict.

This talk provides a background to their design and features, and their operational histories including their roles as flagships and major actions.
